The main goal of Stockartist is to provide a mechanism to allow any person, independently of their income, social status, gender, sexual preference, race, origin, etc., influence in two decisions in the art world: the price of the artworks and the importance of the artists (this is also related with the decision how “good” or “bad” is an artwork). The mechanism gathers information from many sources to calculate daily different indexes to evaluate the artists from many points of view, one of the indexes is called democratic index calculated based on the participants of Stockartist behaviour.
Stockartist is composed by two kinds of market: the real market and the reference market. In the reference market thousand of artists play in a simulation environment to get their daily values. In the real market, artists posts real artworks, based in the Stockartist model. Prices in the real market may change everyday affected by the reference market results.
Participants of the reference market receive 15,000 virtual money to invest in artists, institutions or curators to trains themselves as art investors. In the real market participants can buy real artworks in ranges from 1 to 100 Euros each.
